Job Interview Tip: Don't 'make-up'... Do "Make-down"

These days, having an impressive resume is not the only factor that can help a job hunter get the job she desires.  Creating an excellent first impression is another factor that an interviewer may consciously or subconsciously be aware of in deciding whether or not you would fit into their company's needs.  First impressions, of course, involve being able to create that most credible appearance during the first moment a job seeker meets the interviewer for the first time.
As for most females, here are some tips on the ideal job interveiw make-up:

-"Less is More.." Concealer, sheer pressed powder are your best make-up tools for any job interview.  No need for a full coverage foundation or heavy powder.  Remember, you are meeting one or two persons in a room, not an entire audience in a theater.

-"Accentuate your features." Don't overdo your color choices for your eye shadow, blush and lips.  Use pencil eyeliner (dark brown is preferable), light to medium brown eye shadow and mascara to accentuate your eyes.  Postpone using your liquid eye liner for another occasion.  And usually, neutral colors would be best for your eye shadow, instead of using bright blues, violets or pinks.  Also, use a blush right under your cheekbones to contour the face, don't create a clown look by applying so much on the apples of your cheeks.

-"Strategize with your lips."  Some image strategist may consider a woman's lips as a powerful weapon in communication.  When a woman wears red lipstick, a study has shown that she can sell to more clients as the color red draws the listener in to what a female says.  While this can be effective for some situations, it's best to keep your lips natural looking in job interviews.  Use a natural colored lip liner, smudge it on to your lips and use a sheer lip gloss over it to create an attractive yet natural look during interviews.

Finish your look with a clean hairstyle (making sure it's away from your eyes!) and you should be able to create that impressive appearance for your interviewer.  Remember, your resume is what would get your foot in the door, but your image is what will take you through your interview!  Make sure your image is credible, professional and impressive!
