Handshaking Guide for a Global Professional

With traveling made easy and occasionally affordable, the world has been within reach for professionals.  It is almost inevitable for a globally competitive professional to encounter new people, practically on a daily basis.  More than ever, it is essential for a professional man or woman to be aware of how to create that cutting edge first impression to those that they encounter.   In today's international arena, the most acceptable physical contact for business greeting is through the handshake.

To give a professional handshake, consider the following guidelines:

Offer your hand with thumbs upward, fingers facing the other person
Make sure you give a full handshake, instead of just holding the fingers of the other person
Give a firm grip, a sincere smile and a warm greeting.

Being a global professional can be easy when one decides to work on their image, etiquette and communication skills.  Establishing that powerful and lasting first impression through giving a professional and credible greeting can do wonders for one's success potential.  Grow your professional image, starting with greeting and handshaking with confidence!
