Positive thinking = Positive life

As a businesswoman, I am a believer of the power of positive thinking.  It is through positivity that we can achieve our goals and any other ambitions we have.  Between hard work and positivity, I would even say that it is the latter that allows us to turn our dreams into reality.  In the first place, it is with that mindset that we are able to set goals.  When negativity creeps into our minds, we are completely unable to see the possibilities that lie ahead of us.

Positive thinking is not only applicable to setting financial or business goals.  It is also essential for our personal lives (social life, love life, etc...)  If you think about it, we are more beautiful when we think of good things.  For example, if we wake up from a good dream, we find ourselves looking great in front of the mirror.  But if we wake up from a bad sleep, plus if we are dreading the day we have ahead of us, no matter how long we apply make-up we somehow don't feel as beautiful as before.  Positive thinking truly affects our appearance and our behavior with the people we relate to everyday.

Here are some tips on how we can achieve a positive life:

Tip #1:  Smile when you need to, smile even if you don't have to!

I have found that smiling can turn my mood around as well as the mood of the people around you (just make sure you give a nice, welcoming, sincere smile instead of a creepy one that might scare them away!)  Sometimes, when I am starting to feel stressed out due to a negative situation, e.g. lack of sleep, overloaded or overworked; I do my best to maintain a smile to those that I encounter.  It actually works, I find that my stress alleviates when I simply look happy.  I believe it's because when you smile, the other people around you feel pleasant towards you which in turn you appreciate... so your inner negativity is replaced with a more hopeful, positive attitude!

Tip #2:  Transform any negative words to positive words!

Instead of saying "I'm so tired" or "It's so hard!", change the negative word to it's direct opposite.  Here's how you do it:

I'm so tired ---> I feel great!
It's so hard ---> It's so easy!

Even if you don't actually believe or feel it, say it anyway.  You'll be surprised at how the words you think about can affect your life.  Sometimes, the words that come out of your mouth becomes your reality.  So make your reality a positive one through saying and thinking of positive words all the time!

Tip #3:  Think positively of others.

Sometimes, we have the habit of doing all the work instead of delegating it to our co-workers or those around us.  This is usually because we don't believe that they can do it well, or perhaps we assume that they would make a mistake so instead of having them do it, you would do it yourself just to make sure it gets done right!  However, the result is that you become overworked (hence stressed!) and they won't learn anything.  Look for the best in people, and you will find yourself with a more positive life.  How?  If you trust others by delegating work for them, you have taught them how to get the job done right (if they don't get it right, don't worry because eventually they will!) plus you unload the extra work from yourself to them.  Result?  Productive and efficient life with the bonus of mentoring another individual!
